One morning, I spent nearly an hour watching an ant. It was carrying a huge feather (1) on [across] the backyard. Several times it was
confronted by obstacles (2) through [in] its path and after momentary pause it would make (3) a [the] necessary detour.
At one point, the ant had to negotiate a crack in the ground about 10mm wide. It hesistated, then laid the feather (4) across [over] the crack, walked across it and picked up the feather on the other side then continued on (5) its way. I was fascinated by the
ingenuity of this ant. Here was a tiny insect lacking in size.
     (6) the [yet] equipped with a brain to reason, explore, discover
and overcome. However this ant, like us (7) in [also] faces failures.
The ant finally reached its destination. How could that large feather possibly fit (8) into a small hole? Of course it could not. So the ant, after going through all the trouble along the way, (9) only [just] abandoned the feather and went home.
The ant had not thought the problem (10) just [through] before picking up the feather and in the end the feather was nothing more than a burden.
