     The deserted fringes of East Coast Park (1) was the unlikely spot for a late-night drama (2) where some rollerbladers spent more than 3 hours saving scores of lost newborn turtles. They were heading inland instead of out (3) to sea.
     Ricky Hair, 28, and 7 other colleagues (4) had just embarked on their favourite sport when they came (5) across scores of the tiny creatures crawling inland (6) onto jogging tracks and cycling tracks.
     "Many, having fallen into drains, were in deep distress while (7) some [others] were on the cycling track and sure to be crushed," said Mr Hair. "We simply (8) could not leave them there." The police and the National Environment Agency were also informed.
     A turtle expert explained that the tiny creatures were (9) most likely "lured" by the glare of lights from the beach. The turtles were eventually all caught and released at the nearby (10) much darker Changi Reclamation Beach, where they swam with the tide out into the open sea.
